NERF BARS& SIDE STEPS
Nerf bars, side steps, and side tubes may be slightly different in name and detail, but they are all similar accessories of security, protection and style. Though some structural and material variations exist, each of the three will enhance the performance and look of any truck.
Security
Nerf bars and side steps or tubes bridge the gap between the ground and the truck entry, which is especially important if the truck has any type of suspension kit installed. Step security is critical, and for this reason it is important to consider the width of the desired product; bars and tubes may be significantly slimmer than steps. Another consideration is the surface material and area of the step as some have non-slip pads. For ultra-secure entry, running boards provide the width of a step for the entire length of the board.
Protection
Bars, steps, and tubes all provide that first line of defense on the road or off-road. Whether faring rocks, debris, roadkill or shopping carts, this accessory is excellent peripheral protection.
Style
From a cab-length bar to a wheel-to-wheel tube, this is one hot accessory. Filling in the gap between the ground and the truck will give the illusion that the truck stands that much taller. Either a chrome or black-powdered finish will make an aggressive statement of style.
