BODY TRIM
& VENT VISORS
Some accessories are pure pleasure . . . and that is the category into which body trim and vent visors fall. Whether low riding or wind cutting, body trim and vent visors are designed to turn heads and drop jaws.
From stem to stern, body trim covers a wide range of products. Self-explanatory common trim include bug shields, grab handles, aluminum alloy fuel doors, pocket fenders, hood scoops, rear bumpers and roll pans, head- and taillight trim, license plate trim, antennas, tow hooks, bumper badges, tailgate spoiler, hitch covers, bike and ski racks, deflectors, side skirts and fenders.
Other custom accessories might include door handles and tailgate handles, both with custom buckets perhaps in lightning bolts, flames, crosses or the truck make's logo. They come in aluminum or chrome and are moderately easy to install.
Exhaust tips are usually chrome plated stainless steel and clamp on with no welding required. The slant style with a rolled tip is a common design, and common sizes generally run 10” or 13”.
Street tubes create a low-rider look while maintaining stock height. The length typically runs wheel-to-wheel with a flush mounted look. Though heavy gauge steel they are not intended as step or nerf bar.
Similarly a sport tube is also chrome/stainless steel but slightly more complicated to install.
Body cladding, though perhaps specific to particular brands, adds protection and style with a rugged armor look from the diamond-textured plastic. It is easy to install with high bond tape and appropriate for front, rear, and/or side application.
Vent visor are custom molded for a specific make, model and year of a truck. They block wind, turbulence, and rain from the cab, reduce drag and increase gas mileage, reduce noise, do not reduce visibility, and are easy install without tape or drilling. |
